The Fort St. James Community Forest is owned by the municipal District for the benefit of the residents of Fort St. James.
Organizational Structure: The Mayor and Council of the District of Fort St. James are the body responsible for the effective management of the Fort St. James Community Forest. Community Forest Tenure is in the name of the District of Fort St. James (municipality).
Governance is by municipal council consisting of Mayor and four councilors. Council has contracted with KDL Group to manage the community forest operations.
